How to get the best results from every session.

1. CONSISTENCY FIRST, CONTROL YOUR PRESSURE

  • Inconsistent line work
  • Patchy shading
  • Overworked areas
  • Lack of ink saturation
  • More wiping

Just like inconsistent needle depth affects real skin, inconsistent pressure can impact the quality and control of your practice work.

2. Clean Smart, No Scrubbing

  • Gently wipe away excess ink using a cotton makeup removal pad with a small amount of oil (baby oil works just fine)
  • Minimal pressure
  • Lightly lift excess ink
  • Avoid repeated wiping over the same area

When working on practice skins, oil helps lift excess ink cleanly.
When tattooing real skin, artists typically clean with green soap and distilled water instead.

3. Understand the Material

Your Stencil Skin is designed for:
• Line work training
• Shading technique refinement
• Colour packing practice
• Developing hand stability
It may not be real skin, but it’s one of the closest and safest ways to build tattoo discipline before working on clients.
Train smarter. Protect your practice surface. Perfect your technique.

PRO TIP FROM OUR FOUNDER GLEN

When practicing line work, focus on consistent hand speed before worrying about needle depth.
Many beginners try to correct mistakes by going deeper, when the real issue is inconsistent movement.
Stencil Skins are designed to help you train controlled, repeatable movement
